Terms of Service

Plain-English terms for booking and travelling with OnPoint Cars. Please read them before you travel.

Last updated: 17 May 2026

These Terms of Service govern every booking made with OnPoint Cars for chauffeur and private hire taxi journeys. By completing a booking, you confirm that you have read and accept these terms. They form a binding agreement between you and OnPoint Cars.

1. The Service

OnPoint Cars provides premium chauffeur and private hire taxi services across Greater Manchester and beyond, including airport transfers to and from Manchester Airport (MAN), Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA), Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LPL), and other UK airports by arrangement.

All vehicles are licensed private hire vehicles and all drivers hold valid private hire driver licences issued by the relevant licensing authority. OnPoint Cars is not a taxi (hackney carriage) service and cannot accept hailed bookings on the street. All journeys must be pre-booked.

2. Making a Booking

A booking is confirmed only when you receive a written confirmation from us by email. Until that confirmation is sent, no contract exists between us.

When making a booking you must:

  • Provide accurate pickup and drop-off addresses
  • Specify the correct date and time of travel
  • State the number of passengers and the amount of luggage accurately
  • Disclose any additional requirements (e.g. child seats, accessibility needs, oversized luggage) at the time of booking

If any of this information is incorrect, we reserve the right to decline the journey at the point of pickup or to charge for any additional costs incurred as a result of the inaccuracy (for example, if the agreed vehicle is unsuitable due to understated luggage).

Bookings are made as a guest. You do not need an account. Your booking confirmation email is your record of the agreement.

3. Pricing and Payment

Fixed Prices

The price quoted at the time of booking is fixed and will not change, provided the journey details remain as stated. We do not operate metered pricing.

Surcharges

The following surcharges may apply and will be clearly stated at the time of booking where applicable:

  • Out-of-hours: journeys between 22:00 and 05:00 may carry a night supplement
  • Public holidays: journeys on bank holidays in England carry a public holiday supplement
  • Waiting time: for airport pickups, 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time is included after the scheduled landing time. Subsequent waiting time is charged at our published hourly rate, pro-rated in 15-minute increments
  • Parking and tolls: any parking charges or toll fees incurred during your journey (including at airport terminals) will be added to your fare
  • Cleaning fee: if a passenger causes soiling or damage to the vehicle interior, a cleaning or repair fee of up to £150 will be charged to cover the cost of professional valeting and any resulting loss of earnings

Payment

Payment is taken at the time of booking via our secure online payment system. Your card details are processed by our payment provider and are never stored by OnPoint Cars. By providing your payment details you authorise us to charge the agreed fare plus any applicable surcharges.

4. Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that plans change. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • More than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time: full refund of the fare paid
  • Between 2 and 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time: 50% refund of the fare paid
  • Less than 2 hours before the scheduled pickup time, or no-show: no refund. The full fare is forfeited

To cancel a booking, email hello@onpointcars.co.uk with your booking reference. Cancellation takes effect from the time we receive your email. Cancellations submitted outside business hours will be processed on the next working day, but the timestamp of your email will be used to determine the applicable refund tier.

Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

Cancellation by OnPoint Cars

In exceptional circumstances (for example, vehicle breakdown, extreme weather, or driver illness) we may need to cancel your booking. In such cases you will receive a full refund of any amount paid. We will attempt to arrange an alternative vehicle where possible and will notify you as early as practicable. We are not liable for any consequential costs (such as missed flights or hotel fees) arising from such a cancellation.

5. On the Day of Travel

Passenger Readiness

Please be ready at your agreed pickup location at the confirmed time. Your driver will wait for up to 10 minutes beyond the scheduled pickup time for local journeys, and up to 60 minutes after the confirmed flight landing time for airport arrivals (after which waiting time charges apply as set out in Section 3).

If you cannot locate your driver, call the number on your booking confirmation immediately. Do not assume the booking is cancelled.

Flight Monitoring

For airport pickup journeys, we monitor your flight's arrival status and adjust the driver's arrival time accordingly. Please ensure you have provided the correct flight number at the time of booking.

Luggage

Each passenger is permitted one standard suitcase and one piece of hand luggage as a default. If you are travelling with additional or oversized luggage, sports equipment, or prams, you must declare this at the time of booking so that an appropriate vehicle can be assigned. We accept no liability for luggage that cannot be accommodated due to an undisclosed quantity or size.

6. Passenger Conduct

You are responsible for the conduct of all passengers in your party during the journey. The following are not permitted in our vehicles under any circumstances:

  • Smoking or vaping
  • Consumption of alcohol without prior arrangement
  • Consumption of food (beverages in sealed containers are acceptable)
  • Verbal or physical abuse of the driver
  • Behaviour that is threatening, offensive, or likely to cause distress
  • Any activity that distracts or impedes the driver

All passengers must wear a seatbelt at all times where one is fitted. Children must be seated in an appropriate child seat. If you require a child seat, you must request one at the time of booking. You are responsible for fitting the child seat correctly.

7. Right to Refuse Service

Our drivers have the right to decline to commence or to terminate a journey without refund in the following circumstances:

  • A passenger appears to be intoxicated to a degree that poses a risk of soiling or damaging the vehicle, or presents a risk to the safety of the driver or other passengers
  • A passenger is behaving in a threatening, abusive, or violent manner
  • A passenger refuses to wear a seatbelt
  • The number of passengers or the volume of luggage exceeds the vehicle's licensed capacity
  • Any other circumstance in which the driver reasonably believes continuing the journey would pose a safety risk

In the event that a journey is terminated early on these grounds, no refund will be issued.

8. Liability

Our Liability to You

OnPoint Cars carries appropriate public liability insurance. If we cause direct loss or damage to you through our negligence, our liability is limited to the value of the fare paid for the journey in question, except where such limitation is prohibited by law (for example, in cases of personal injury or death caused by negligence).

Indirect Losses

We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from the provision of, or failure to provide, our services. This includes but is not limited to: missed flights, missed connections, missed events, hotel costs, or costs arising from delays caused by road traffic, adverse weather, or circumstances beyond our control.

We strongly recommend that you build appropriate contingency time into your journey planning, particularly for airport transfers and time-critical appointments.

Passenger Property

We take reasonable care of property left in our vehicles, but we are not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings. If you leave property in one of our vehicles, contact us at hello@onpointcars.co.uk as soon as possible and we will make every effort to reunite you with your item.

Force Majeure

We are not in breach of these terms and are not liable for any failure to perform our services to the extent that such failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: severe weather events, road closures, fuel shortages, pandemic restrictions, strikes, or acts of government.

9. Complaints

If you have a complaint about your journey or our service, please contact us at hello@onpointcars.co.uk within 14 days of the relevant journey. Include your booking reference, the date of travel, and a clear description of your concern. We aim to respond to all complaints within 5 working days.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking is the version that governs that booking. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from them shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
